The Chinese sports delegation first appeared at the Asian Games in 1974 and has since participated in 13 consecutive editions, topping the gold medal table 11 times. Today, in the women's 10m air rifle team event at the Nagoya Asian Games, the Chinese team won the gold medal. Just before that, in the women's individual triathlon at the Nagoya Asian Games, Chinese athlete Lin Xinyu won the gold medal. In the modern pentathlon final at the Nagoya Asian Games, the Chinese team won the women's team gold medal in modern pentathlon. This is the first gold medal won by the Chinese delegation at the Nagoya Asian Games.
